Crown Prince meets graduates of Jaguar Land Rover Apprentice Academy

His Royal Highness Crown Prince Al Hussein bin Abdullah II on Monday reiterated that technical and vocational training is one of the most important tools to enable young people to find job opportunities.

During a meeting at Al Husseiniya Palace with graduates of Jaguar Land Rover Apprentice Academy’s first class, Crown Prince Al Hussein stressed the important role of the private sector in vocational and technical education to enable youth to meet labour market needs.

The 12 graduates—eight from Al Hussein Technical University (HTU) and four from the National Service Programme implemented by the Ministry of Labour—spoke to His Royal Highness about their experiences.

The academy’s training programme provides three options for its graduates, namely completing their education by obtaining an undergraduate degree at HTU, joining a three-month course that enables them to work at other car manufacturing companies, or entering the labour market directly.

Founded by Mahmoudia Motors, Jaguar and Land Rover dealer in Jordan, the academy offers free of charge training programmes in automotive technology, as part of its corporate social responsibility, and those interested can apply through HTU.
